Aqua Vale Swimming & Fitness Centre offers a wide range of accessible facilities to accommodate all needs. Everyone Active’s goal is to encourage everyone to participate in 30 minutes of activity five days a week, and our facilities allow this goal to be achieved. Car Park and Entrance

The car park has eight designated wheelchair friendly spaces closely situated to the front of the facility, ramped access from the car park to the main entrance and soft touch opening door. A manually operated revolving door is also available.

Reception

The reception desk low level which is accessible to wheelchair users. There is a hearing induction loop installed at the main reception, turnstiles leading from reception into the facility with a separate gate for wheelchair and push chair access.

Lifts

There is a passenger lift to enable access to the gym on the first floor of the facility. The lift has enough space for wheelchair access and lift controls are accessible. The lift provides an audible announcement informing users of doors opening and closing and floor reached.

Toilets and Changing

There are three unisex accessible toilet situated in the reception area, two unisex accessible toilet/changing facilities in the main swimming changing area. On the first floor in the fitness suite there are two unisex toilets and one changing room. Changing facilities include; a shower seat, adjustable shower head, grab rails and the shower controls at an accessible height.

Poolside Facilities

There are large family cubicles in the main swimming pool changing room which make them more suitable for disabled users and their families. There is a hoist to assist disabled customers getting in and out of the pool, please request use of this at reception or to any member of the pool team.

Gym Facilities

The fitness suite has Inclusive Fitness Initiative accredited equipment which includes treadmills, upright cycles, recumbent cycle, upper body ergometers and Octane Cross Trainers, Power Plates,  Gravity Power Towers and Concept 2 rowers.

Vending, Tables & Chairs

Customers can enjoy a tasty snack from our vending machines in the designated seating area.
